I can see that the mention of msg pushed a button there, and I'm sorry you're upset. <br /><br />Now, as far as the mention of msg is concerned, I was quoting Sand in the first place, and second I made no endorsement of the product - that WASN'T the point of the passage. The point of the passage was the adoption of the motif of 'house and home' to sell commercial products, as a new phenomenon in Japan at the time. The particulars of which products adopted that motif was not of particular relevance, it was only to list a few examples. Please read for contextual meaning.
