I did search around a bit to see if I could find a larger key blank, and I'm sure they exist, however the Museum's actual preference is that the drawers remain locked anyway so that they can't be repeatedly opened and shut by children. As the key fabrication was an extra I did on the project for no charge, and the museum wasn't looking to have the locks openable in the first place, it made little sense to continue to make keys. All the drawers were opened and checked to see if anything was inside, and other than that bag of springs, they were all empty.

I did learn about how the locks work and what sort of key is required, so if this issue comes up in the future - say the Museum decides they do want keys made - I can more readily tackle that work.

~CAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14328401081765407624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261993076995357307.post-7466712880510293412016-10-01T07:50:59.558-04:002016-10-01T07:50:59.558-04:00Nice work Chris! It still retains its original look but I know all the work that's gone into it by following your posts. I'm sure the museum will be most pleased.
